10 Crowd Free National Parks

Pinnacles NP

Do you love to visit U.S. National Parks or are you interested in doing so?

Great Smokey Mountains NP, located in Tennessee and North Carolina was the most visited U.S. National Park in 2013 with 9,354,695 according to the National Parks Conservation Association. Following in a distant second was Grand Canyon NP with 4,564,840 visitors and Yosemite NP with 3,691,191 visitors.

While I’m certainly no expert on the topic of U.S. National Parks, I would’ve expected the most visited parks to be Yellowstone or Yosemite. Kim and I have visited a limited number of  National Parks in the U.S. and hope to change this in the future. Continue reading 10 Crowd Free National Parks

10 Things You Should Never Say To A Flight Attendant

Screen Shot 2014-03-23 at 11.57.12 PMLast week I wrote about a USA Today article- How To Make Flight Attendants Like You. Some might say that the general idea of the article is just common sense while my thought is that a simple reminder about how to act/ behave on a flight doesn’t hurt.

I just came across another flight attendant-related article, this time from Smarter Travel.

I was expecting the article- 10 Things You Should Never Say to a Flight Attendant to be an interesting list but to me, this was a bit ridiculous and something to laugh about. I can’t imagine who would actually say most of these things.

10 Crazy Driving Laws Around the World

Driving in foreign countries can definitely be interesting. Knowing the rules- what side of the road to drive on, the speed limit and parking just to name a few can be confusing in itself. Then there are the unwritten rules, when or when not to honk the horn, let other cars cut in etc.

I recently wrote a post about a Huffington Post article-  10 Worst Places To Drive In the World. In the post I wrote about how I’d much rather take public transportation than rent a car when traveling. I followed up a few days later with a Poll: What’s the Worst Place To Drive In the World.

Besides the typical driving laws that you’d expect to figure out, there are also some pretty ridiculous and bizarre ones in various places.

Traveling affordably or better yet cheaply is a goal for many of us involved in the miles & points game. Without the use of these extremely valuable currencies, Kim, Lucas and I would travel probably a fraction of what we do each year.

Miles & points will take a big bite out of expenses in terms of flying and accommodations at our destination. What about the destination itself?

There are many places that people look to avoid due to the costs while you are there- meals, visitings sites and getting around just to name a few. When I think of pricey destinations, Denmark and Norway immediately come to mind.

I’m always interested in hearing about new and interesting museums. I don’t visit a ton of museums but I do make an effort to check some out when traveling.

Smarter Travel put together an interesting slideshow of ten new museums debuting this year. The museums are located around the world but concentrated in only a couple of areas. Five are located in the United States, four are spread out around Europe with the last one being in Brazil.

Here is this list: Continue reading Smarter Travel: Museums You Need To See This Year
