Hello All! This week I should have some updates on a couple of things. Back in October I wrote about how our stroller got broken during an American Airlines flight. After a long wait, the issue has been resolved. More on that in an upcoming post.

I decided to fill out the entries for IHG’s Priceless Surprises promo for Kim and got them in over the final couple of days. Kim already received 50 prize e-mails. Since my last post about IHG Priceless Surprises, another 3,500 points have posted to my IHG account. I’ve since mailed in my remaining 14 entries although I received a bunch of extras (entries) mentioned in the link above.

I decided to enter Kim’s account in the promo too but we have a lot more entries to write. (All entries must be postmarked by February 14, 2016.)

I  can’t say that I have anything exciting to report when it comes to miles, points and travel from this past week. However, there are a couple of interesting things of note to report and remind you about (and they’re not exactly good news).

If you’re looking to book shorter routes with British Airways Avios, on February 2nd awards which cost 4,500 points will now cost 7,500 points. That’s a pretty big increase but still a pretty good deal. It’s been quite a busy week since I started a new job last Tuesday. I haven’t had much time to focus on travel but I’ve been looking into some ideas for a long weekend trip for February.

I have the Southwest Companion Pass through 2016 and it’s definitely time to start using some of my points. I was hoping that we’d visit a new state in February but we’re leaning towards heading to Tennessee again, this time to visit Memphis! Another option we’re considering is Raleigh- Durham, North Carolina. Kim, Lucas and I spent a night over the weekend at one of our favorite hotels. We wanted to go away over the long weekend and the chance to earn Kim’s IHG accelerate bonus made it even more worthwhile. (I just hope that I read the terms correctly for her offer! If so, Kim should earn 46,000 IHG points for the stay.)

As of now, our next flight isn’t until the end of April. That seems like way too long of a wait. Maybe we’ll take a long weekend domestic trip when I’m off in February. After getting back from our trip to Cuba on Monday evening, I feel like I’m still struggling to catch up on sleep and get back into the swing of things.

I was happy to see the bonus post so quickly for my City National Bank Crystal Infinite card. Along with the $250 incidental credit, this card has been pretty impressive. I just wish that I had gotten Kim an authorized user card in time to get the credit a second time before the year ended.

I’m now working on finishing off the spend for my newest card before applying for my first credit card of 2016.
