When you think of France, the first thing that probably comes to most people’s minds is the Eiffel Tower.

During a visit to Paris years back, I walked up the Eiffel Tower in uncomfortable sandals due to my luggage being delayed. I’m looking forward to visiting the famed tower again during an upcoming visit, hopefully… Continue reading Due To Protests, the Eiffel Tower Will Close This Weekend

Teens Lost 3 Days in Paris Catacombs, Rescued

Paris Catacombs
From Michael W Travels visit in 2001

During my second trip to Europe in 2001, I got my first taste of a site that I consider odd.

I was in Paris with a friend and I called home to say hello to my family. My mother had come across an interesting article in an upstate NY newspaper. She told me about a site which had recently reopened in Paris.

Right after the call, I stopped at a Tourist Information Center to inquire about the Paris Catacombs. Continue reading Teens Lost 3 Days in Paris Catacombs, Rescued

The Eiffel Tower is one of the most visited tourist attractions in the world. Around 7 million visit people each year.

The iconic tower offers amazing views. A friend and I took the stairs when we visited years back. It’s also lit up at night.

For a limited time there’s a free, adventurous attraction being offered at the Eiffel Tower. Continue reading The Eiffel Tower Has A Free Zip Line For A Limited Time

I visited Paris during my second trip to Europe quite a few years back. Although I’ve been to Europe tons of times, I have yet to return.

I have only good memories of the visit and was surprised to read that Paris is changing from the City of Light to the City of Pee.

You DID NOT Win An All Expenses Paid Trip to Paris

aeromexico

A rather odd e-mail arrived in my inbox earlier in the day from Aeromexico.

The random e-mail that I received from Aeromexico was in Spanish. When I signed up to receive e-mail alerts from the airline, I’d assume that it asked my location and language. This makes me wonder why I don’t get messages from them in English.

So the subject was “Aviso Importante” (Important Announcement). Continue reading You DID NOT Win An All Expenses Paid Trip to Paris

Terrorism In Paris= Less Tourists

France Tourism

Just a little under two weeks back Paris was under attack by terrorists.

In all, 17 innocent victims lost their lives and three terrorists were killed by the French police. Since the attacks, there have been raids in various European cities with many arrests made.

It sounds petty to wonder or care about how these attacks have affected tourism in Paris, but it is still an interesting topic to take a look at. Continue reading Terrorism In Paris= Less Tourists

Win A Trip For 2 To Paris & Year’s Worth of Chocolate

a dog in a hat and a green lawn with trees

I received an e-mail from Hipmunk about an amazing trip to Paris being given away along with a year’s worth of chocolate in the Travel the World through Chocolate Sweepstakes.

Paris and chocolate sound like a great pairing so I’d love to win this prize. I was in Paris years ago and have talked about visiting again some day. Winning this prize would be a great excuse to head back! As for the chocolate, Vosges makes really yummy, high quality stuff so you can’t go wrong (well maybe your waistline could).

The Prize: A trip for 2 to Paris and a year’s worth of chocolate from Vosges Continue reading Win A Trip For 2 To Paris & Year’s Worth of Chocolate
