While I’m not a wine drinker, if you are, you might want to get on an upcoming American Airlines flight.

American Airlines recently announced that they’ll be flying to Sydney, Australia. And for  the lucky group that happens to be flying in first class on the inaugural flight, there will be a special treat- pricey wine! Continue reading Enjoy An $850 Bottle of Wine On American Airlines Flight

Flight Diverted After 9/11 Rant

Flight Diverted

I came across a story of a plane being diverted for a pretty scary reason.

An American Airlines flight heading from Los Angeles to Philadelphia had to be diverted to Phoenix due to an unruly passenger. The passenger didn’t hurt anyone but he did make some comments about the government and a rather touchy subject, 9/11. Continue reading Flight Diverted After 9/11 Rant

Switched Flights & A Broken Stroller, Thanks American Airlines

Our recent flight to Grenada was one of the odder ones that we’ve been on in quite some time.

When I originally booked our award flight with AAdvantage miles, the only award availability had us flying from New York’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA) to Philadelphia. We then had a tight connection for our next flight to Miami where we’d have an almost three-hour layover before flying to Grenada.

Here are a couple of odd (interesting) things that happened. Continue reading Switched Flights & A Broken Stroller, Thanks American Airlines

American Airlines Giving Away Set of Heritage Amenity Kits

Back in February I wrote about American Air honoring its past with new amenity kits.

I came across the kits in an issue of AA’s inflight magazine, American Way on a flight home from Orlando.

The kits, called #OurHeritage honor the airline’s past by taking their designs from their nine legacy carriers. I was hoping to get one of these kits but haven’t had any Business or First Class flights with AA since the kits came out. Continue reading American Airlines Giving Away Set of Heritage Amenity Kits

Earn Up To 6X AA Miles with Hertz

American Airlines Miles

Around a week back I wrote about a way to get 25 Free Hertz Points by registering for the Fall Bonus. While 25 points might not sound like much, it is a good way to extend the expiration of your points balance.

If you plan to rent a car from Hertz during the remainder of 2015, you can earn up to 6X American Airlines miles and save up to 35%. Continue reading Earn Up To 6X AA Miles with Hertz

American Airlines L.A. to Cuba Charter Service Announced

American Airlines NewsWith the U.S. easing the restrictions on visiting Cuba it has quickly become one of the hottest touist destinatons.

Full diplomatic relations have been restored between the two nations so hopefully it will be even easier for Americans to visit Cuba in the near future. I’d love to go before it gets flooded with American tourists and loses some of its charm but it still isn’t so simple to get to Cuba…

Early in 2015 CheapAir.com started selling flight from the US to Cuba. JetBlue started offering a direct charter from NY to Cuba which began in early July. Continue reading American Airlines L.A. to Cuba Charter Service Announced

Retention? I Closed My Last Citi AA Executive Card

Citi AA Executive Card

Back in March I wrote about a Citi AA Executive Card retention offer.

The offer really wasn’t much of an offer. I could keep my card open and spend $1,000 or more in a month and get 1,000 bonus miles for 16 billing cycles or I could downgrade my card to another Citi AA product.

The decision was easy to close my card due to the pricey $450 annual fee. Continue reading Retention? I Closed My Last Citi AA Executive Card
