Whenever a card comes up for an annual fee, I always like to call in to see what offers might be available to me… Even if I don’t have any real desire or intention to keep the card open.

When the annual fee came up for my American Express Platinum Delta ® Business card, I knew that I would be closing it. Besides the random Amex Sync or Small Business Saturday offer, this is a card that I never used. There is no way to justify  paying any annual fee, let alone $195 for this card. One of the easiest ways to earn extra miles and points (to top off your accounts) is through airline & hotel dining programs. The only problem can be  finding participating restaurants that you’d like to dine at.

Here is a quick description of how these programs work– sign up, link some of your credit cards, dine at participating restaurants and earn around 3-5 miles per dollar spent.

Earn 1,000 Bonus United Miles Per Marriott Stay

If you’re planning to stay at a Marriott hotel at some point over the next two and a half months here is a way to earn a nice little bonus.

You can now earn 1,000 bonus United MileagePlus miles for staying at select JW Marriott, Autograph Collection Hotels, Renaissance Hotels, Gaylord Hotels and Marriott Hotels.

Airline Giving Away 1,000,000,000 Miles

I came across a great way to let out some of your frustration about airlines while earning some free miles yesterday while reading USA Today online.

In the article I learned that budget carrier Spirit Airlines is giving away up to one billion miles which comes to 8,000 miles per member. To earn the miles all you need to do is tell Spirit how much you hate flying with them or one of their competitors!
