Find Out Where To Dine Before Your Flight: Eater’s Airport Dining Guides

Eater

In January 2014 I wrote about what I’d consider to be an extremely useful tool for finding the best airport eats, Eater’s Airport Dining Guides.

Since coming across Eater’s guides, I’ve used them every time that I’ve passed through a domestic airport and was in need of a meal or maybe even a snack! 🙂

I’ve noticed that the guides were in need of an update and it looks like it’s here. Continue reading Find Out Where To Dine Before Your Flight: Eater’s Airport Dining Guides

NYC’s Awesome Big Apple BBQ Block Party Returns June 13-14

Big Apple Barbecue Block PartyThe 13th annual Big Apple Barbecue Block Party returns on June 13 – 14, 2015 to Madison Square Park in New York City.

The event is what I’d credit for making me a big fan of barbecue. It’s probably one of my favorite kinds of foods although I wouldn’t place it above pizza and burgers! 🙂 Continue reading NYC’s Awesome Big Apple BBQ Block Party Returns June 13-14

Last Howard Johnson’s Restaurant- An Unlikely Tourist Attraction

Howard Johnsons Restaurant

I remember stopping into Howard Johnson’s restaurant as a kid in upstate New York.

I only recall going to the Liberty, NY location which I believe was also a hotel. When it comes to the menu, the only things I remember ordering, were the clam strips.

When thinking of Howard Johnson’s, two other things come to mind.

  1. Former Mets third baseman Howard Johnson
  2. The Howard Johnsons restaurant in NYC’s Times Square which had a pretty cool neon sign. The restaurant closed in 2005.

I recently came across an article from ABC News about an unlikely attraction in Lake George, NY- a recently reopened Howard Johnson’s restaurant. Continue reading Last Howard Johnson’s Restaurant- An Unlikely Tourist Attraction

A Visit to the Original Chick-fil-A: Dwarf House

Chick fil A Dwarf House

I wouldn’t consider myself a big fan of fast food but if I had to pick a favorite, my choice would be easy- Chick-fil-A!

(I should probably mention here though that I do love to visit McDonald’s when going to new countries to see what unique items might be on the menu.)

For Memorial Day weekend in 2014, Kim, Lucas and I headed to Atlanta to check out some of what the city had to offer. We didn’t rent a car so we took the local MARTA trains and buses (along with one Uber) to get around.

Since we didn’t have a rental car, we passed on visiting one place that I really wanted to check out. Continue reading A Visit to the Original Chick-fil-A: Dwarf House

Danny Meyer Opening Food Hall in NYC

Danny Meyer
Met Danny Meyer at the T4 opening

Food Halls are a hot topic in New York City these days and new ones seem to be popping up all over.

Some of the more well know food halls are Eataly, Gotham West and Chelsea Market.

My personal favorite would probably be Berg’n in Brooklyn, NY. It only has a handful of vendors but all are top-notch. The only problem is that they are starting to rotate some of my favorite vendors- Pizza Moto is now gone and my other fave, Ramen Burger is supposed to be moving on at the end of next month. Newark Airport Food Review: Custom Burgers

Newark Airport Food

Back in November 2014 I had a chance to get a taste of  what was coming Newark Airport’s Terminal C at an event called The United Experience by OTG.

There was a long list of impressive names attached to new dining experiences coming to the terminal. Besides the new food options, the terminal would also be going high-tech with orders being done from iPads as a good example.

A couple of weeks back I caught a flight from Newark’s Terminal C on my way to the Freddies in Atlanta and didn’t realize that some of the new dining options had already opened up for business with iPad ordering and all… Continue reading Newark Airport Food Review: Custom Burgers
