Kim, Lucas and I spent the weekend in Philadelphia at the Radisson Blu Warwick. We had a fun time, visiting lots of kid-friendly places and also ate lots of tasty but unhealthy food!

I was happy to get approved recently for the Citi Thank You card, which should be arriving in the mail any day now. I’m also waiting to see if I get approved for another card that was blogged about by Rene’s Points. The offer died fast but I’ve spoken to the bank and my application is being reviewed.

Last week, Kim, Lucas and I got back from our most recent trip- Grenada. We had a really great (but short) time and I made it to my 70th country visited! At the moment we have no future flights booked. Hopefully this will change soon.

Our next little trip will be this coming weekend, when we head to Philadelphia. This is one of the trips we booked due to the Club Carlson second night free benefit ending. I’m looking forward to checking out the Radisson Blu Warick.

A couple of days back we arrived in Grenada, after a very long day of travel. The Spice Island gets the distinction of being the 70th UN Member State that I’ve visited! This is a very short trip as we only have two full days to explore. Some might think two days isn’t worth it but due to miles & points, this wasn’t a pricey trip at all! (A trip planning post is on the way.)

Kim got her Amex Platinum card in the mail just in time. During our long day of travel we were able to visit two Amex Centurion Lounges, enjoying breakfast & lunch and a quick massage. I guess sometimes, membership does have its privileges. Next weekend Kim, Lucas and I will be heading off on our next trip which is a short one. We’ll be visiting  the island of Grenada. The trip was booked due to the Club Carlson 2nd night free benefit ending.

Kim’s new Amex Platinum card arrived around a week back which is perfect timing. We’ll now have access to the Amex Centurion Lounge in Miami during layovers there to and from Grenada.

Otherwise, there is nothing new going on in terms of miles, points and travel. We’re back less than two weeks from our recent trip to the Middle East Gulf States and also around two weeks away from our next short trip! Our upcoming trip was mainly booked to take advantage of the Club Carlson credit card’s stay 2, pay 1 benefit which was taken away…

Kim finally got approved and received her Amex Platinum card which comes with a 100,000 points sign up bonus. It will also get us back into the Centurion Lounge at LGA during our next trip!

Earlier in the week Kim, Lucas and I got back from our trip to the Middle East Gulf states. The trip was much better than we expected but we’re still a bit off-schedule due to the long flight home. Hopefully another couple of days and we’ll all be back on track.

Today is the last day of our trip to the Middle East Gulf States. It’s been a really great trip but I think that its safe to say that Kim, Lucas and I have seen enough of their forts and shopping malls! (We did see lots of other interesting things too…)

During the trip we visited 4 countries including 5 of the 7 United Arab Emirates. (I had previously been to Dubai in 2009 so I visited 3 new countries during the trip.)

I haven’t had much time to follow-up with what’s going on in the world of miles & points but I did apply for the Amex Platinum 100K offer for Kim. Currently Kim, Lucas and I are on our trip around some of the Middle East Gulf States.

So far we’ve visited Abu Dhabi (UAE), Bahrain, Qatar and (at the time of writing) are on our way to Oman where we’ll spend around five days seeing the country. The trip’s been going well so far with lots of moving around (and flights). It’s also been extremely hot although it isn’t like we didn’t expect it.

We’ve been very busy so there hasn’t been much doing in terms of miles and points other than the fact that we used lots of them to keep the costs down during this little adventure!
