Lines at the airports seem to be getting much worse and a lot of the problem is attributed to the TSA being understaffed as well as “tightened security procedures“.

The long-line problem could get even worse during the upcoming busy summer travel season. However, one airline has an idea on a way to help alleviate the wait times for travelers. Continue reading American Airlines Spending $4 Million to Speed Up Lines At Airports

AA Pilot Doesn’t Allow $20,000,000 Violin on Plane!

Rachel Barton Pine, a famous violinist was stopped by an American Airlines pilot from bringing her 1742 violin from being brought onboard as a carry on.

The pilot said that the violin, insured for almost $20,000,000 was too big. When Pine mentioned that the FAA and American Airlines allow instruments like her violin on (first come first serve as long as they fit in the overhead bin or under a seat) he got nasty. On the way to Poland we flew in AA Business Class. (On the way home, we’re flying with Air Berlin.) Continue reading Time To Reserve Your American Airlines Business Class Meal

Did American Airlines Compensate Us For Breaking Our Stroller?

American Airlines

Back in September, Kim, Lucas and I headed off on a trip to Grenada.

Along the way we had some issues with American Airlines due to switched flights and a broken stroller.

We flew from New York’s LaGuardia  Airport to Miami before heading off for our final destination. Upon arrival in Miami, I noticed that something was wrong with our stroller and it turned out that it had gotten broken along the way.

I filed a report at the airport and hoped) that AA would do right by us and cover the cost to replace our stroller. Continue reading Did American Airlines Compensate Us For Breaking Our Stroller?

American Airlines Makes Lucas A Special Crewmember

American Airlines

Leading up to our recent trip to Toronto, many frustrating things took place.

We were supposed to leave for our trip just to find out that due to a screw-up by British Airways, our flight wasn’t actually booked! We got things sorted out and took the trip a week later. However, I’m still waiting for 40,500 Avios + $143.79 to be refunded.

The following week we ran into some more bad luck. Our flight was cancelled. We were booked in biz but had to fly coach the following day. I wondered if we were owed compensation. On a positive note, Marriott customer service impressed and I didn’t lose a free night certificate. Find out if AA gave us compensation for being moved from biz to coach.

Our visit was pretty brief due to our flight cancellation as well as our flight the following day being delayed a couple of hours. As brief as our visit was, we still had a good time. Continue reading American Airlines Makes Lucas A Special Crewmember

Cancelled Flight in Biz, Flew Coach- Did AA Compensate?

cancelled flight

Last week I wrote about a cancelled flight in business class where we ended up having to fly coach to Toronto. I wondered if we were owed compensation from American Air.

During this trip to Toronto, many things went wrong. Due to a mistake with our booking, I’m waiting on a refund of 40,500 Avios + $143.79 from British Airways.

During this whole saga of bookings mistakes and cancelled flights, the one thing that did turn out well was Marriott customer service helping us out so we didn’t lose a free night certificate.

While I’m still waiting on my refund for British Airways to post, I heard back from American Airlines Customer Relations much faster than I had expected. Continue reading Cancelled Flight in Biz, Flew Coach- Did AA Compensate?

Cancelled Flight in Biz, Flew Coach. Am I Owed Compensation?

cancelled flight

A couple of days back I wrote about how British Airways owed me 40,500 Avios + $143.79 due to a mistake they made with a recent booking.

Because of a BA error, I ended up with a cancelled flight from New York to Toronto. After a lengthy call, Kim, Lucas and I were booked for the following week in business class.

More bad luck hit us on flight day and our flight was cancelled. Continue reading Cancelled Flight in Biz, Flew Coach. Am I Owed Compensation?

AA Business Extra Points Expiring, What Should I Do?

AA Business Extra

Back in January I wrote about some of my American Airlines Business Extra points that had expired.

I had forgotten to redeem some points which were expiring and decided to send an e-mail to AA to try to get them back. It turned out well with my points being reinstated- it didn’t hurt to ask!

With the new year fast approaching, I find myself in a similar position as last year. On December 31, 2015, 1,100 of my AA Business Extra points will expire.

So, what should I do? Continue reading AA Business Extra Points Expiring, What Should I Do?

Around a week back I wrote about a way to get 25 Free Hertz Points by registering for the Fall Bonus. While 25 points might not sound like much, it is a good way to extend the expiration of your points balance.

If you plan to rent a car from Hertz during the remainder of 2015, you can earn up to 6X American Airlines miles and save up to 35%. Continue reading Earn Up To 6X AA Miles with Hertz
