Baseball Players $683 Uber Ride, Nightmare JetBlue Flight, Helicopter Emergency Landing in Ocean, Unaccompanied Teen Removed From Oversold Flight & More- The Rehash!

Towards the end of the week the Michael W Travels family will be heading off on a 5 week trip around the Pacific. Kim, Lucas and Theo will visit 5 island nations while I’ll be visiting an additional one. (I’ll post more about our trip later in the week.)

Planning this trip has been a ton of work but my guess is that it will be well worth it once we’re there! Without the help of miles and points this trip would not be possible! EasyJet Removes Unaccompanied Teen From Overbooked Flight

It seems like airlines just can’t get it right when they overbook flights….

Low-cost airline EasyJet removed an unaccompanied teenager from an overbooked flight, leaving him by himsef at the gate. I could only imagine how scared and stressed out the boy must’ve been. Continue reading EasyJet Removes Unaccompanied Teen From Overbooked Flight

Most people like JetBlue. They have free snacks and free entertainment like WiFi and DIRECTV. No, they don’t offer free checked bags anymore but what could be so bad about the inflight experience?

Feet. Yes, feet would be the answer for one passenger on a recent JetBlue flight. Continue reading Find Out Why A Passenger Had a Nightmare JetBlue Flight

Cancelled Flights- Lucas & I Get Home on AA Flight That Doesn’t Really Exist!

Lucas and I got home late last night from Pittsburgh. It should’ve been a quick one hour flight.

We were scheduled to fly at 5:50 PM from PIT, getting us into New York’s LaGuardia at 7:14 PM. When we arrived at the gate, it seemed busy but nothing unusual. After standing around for a few minutes, I noticed that the screen said now boarding for a 2:45 flight which was switched to 5:30!

This got me curious. If the flight before ours was delayed, then our flight most likely would be too. Continue reading Cancelled Flights- Lucas & I Get Home on AA Flight That Doesn’t Really Exist!

Odd Checked Luggage- A Can of Beer, Free Shake Shack, Queen Doesn’t Need Passport, Wyndham Card Retention, Flight Delay Due To Pee, Screwdriver In A Carry-On & More- The Rehash!

Last week I mentioned that Lucas and I were going away on a Father- Son Trip.

We got back later last night from a visit to Pittsburgh, PA. I know it doesn’t sound like a glamorous destination but we had a great time. There’s lots of excellent museums, it’s a great sports town and those bridges make for awesome photos!

I plan to write a bit about our trip in some upcoming posts. Continue reading Odd Checked Luggage- A Can of Beer, Free Shake Shack, Queen Doesn’t Need Passport, Wyndham Card Retention, Flight Delay Due To Pee, Screwdriver In A Carry-On & More- The Rehash!

Can I Bring A Screwdriver In My Carry-On Bag?

It’s always interesting to hear about the odd or dangerous items that people try to bring in their carry-on bags. I usually come across them  thanks to the TSA’s Instagram account. (Curious to find out about some of the items? Search TSA on my site!)

If you’re unsure if an item is allowed to fly, you could ask the TSA through Facebook Messenger. Continue reading Can I Bring A Screwdriver In My Carry-On Bag?

Sunbathing Cows on the Beach in Corsica, France- Don’t Take Selfies!

We love experiences which include animals while traveling.

In 2012, I wrote about My Top 5 Animal Encounters. It could probably use an update with A Visit to the Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital being added to the list.

One day I’d love to pay a visit to see the swimming pigs in the Bahamas. Tragedy struck these special pigs a few months back. Who knows if regulations will change, stopping tourists from interacting with the pigs in the future.

I came across another interesting animal experience on Corsica France but it might be wise to keep your distance. Continue reading Sunbathing Cows on the Beach in Corsica, France- Don’t Take Selfies!

Queen Elizabeth II Doesn’t Need A Passport

Whenever I visit a new country, I look forward to checking out the stamp that I get in my passport. If a country doesn’t stamp my passport upon entry, I am not a happy camper…

Imagine not needing a passport for any travel. While it might make some things easier, I still love having a passport to look through at the stamps I’ve received along my many journeys. Continue reading Queen Elizabeth II Doesn’t Need A Passport

Casey Neistat’s Lufthansa First Class Review, Gun Found In Suitcase Lining, Bog Bodies of Ireland, Muji Hotels, Service Ducks On A Plane, Turtles Cause Flight Delays and More- The Rehash!

During Spring Break 2016 Lucas and I went on our first Father- Son trip to Poland. The trip was a great experience and we followed up with 3 trips together in 3 weeks since Kim was pregnant with Theo (and not traveling).

I didn’t expect it this summer, but Lucas and I will head off on another (domestic) Father- Son trip this week! Nothing exotic but to a city I’ve long wanted to check out, primarily for their baseball stadium.

Otherwise, trip planning is moving along well for our big family trip to the Pacific! Continue reading Casey Neistat’s Lufthansa First Class Review, Gun Found In Suitcase Lining, Bog Bodies of Ireland, Muji Hotels, Service Ducks On A Plane, Turtles Cause Flight Delays and More- The Rehash!

Amex Platinum Retention, More Trouble For United, JetBlue Bonus Offer, Nobody Cares About Your Photos, New North Carolina Island & More- The Rehash!

It’s been a busy week here. We’ve made a lot of progress with plans for our big Pacific Islands trip which we’ll be leaving for in about 3 weeks. We still need to finish booking some hotels and then we’ll be good to go.

After some debate, I decided to apply for the Hyatt card before the 2 free-nights bonus went away. Chase called me for more info before getting approved. Talk about an odd conversation! (Maybe I’ll share it in a future post.)

How has your week gone when it comes to miles, points and travel? Continue reading Amex Platinum Retention, More Trouble For United, JetBlue Bonus Offer, Nobody Cares About Your Photos, New North Carolina Island & More- The Rehash!
