Important Tip For Barclays Credit Card Bonus Offers

Barclays Credit Card

A couple of days back I wrote about two different offers that Kim and I received for our AAdvantage Aviator Red cards from Barclays Bank.

Kim received a far superior and easier to earn bonus offer (which requires a certain amount of spend to be done on the card for three consecutive months).

In the post mentioned above, a reader left a comment with some very important information. It might even help prevent you from not receiving the bonus even when you think you’ve earned it! Continue reading Important Tip For Barclays Credit Card Bonus Offers

Which AAdvantage Aviator Red Credit Card Bonus Offer Is Better?

AAdvantage Aviator Red

Barclaycard has been known to send out bonus offers for their credit cards where you can earn a nice chunk of miles or points for hitting a minimum amount of spend (usually for a few months in a row).

The first card that I recall getting an offer like this for was the US Airways Mastercard. Over the summer I received an offer from Barclays for my Wyndham Rewards Visa.

Around a month or so back I received a bonus offer from my AAdvantage Aviator Red credit card which I didn’t consider going for. I didn’t even think about it again until Kim got an offer for her Aviator Red. Continue reading Which AAdvantage Aviator Red Credit Card Bonus Offer Is Better?

AA Business Extra Points Expiring, What Should I Do?

AA Business Extra

Back in January I wrote about some of my American Airlines Business Extra points that had expired.

I had forgotten to redeem some points which were expiring and decided to send an e-mail to AA to try to get them back. It turned out well with my points being reinstated- it didn’t hurt to ask!

With the new year fast approaching, I find myself in a similar position as last year. On December 31, 2015, 1,100 of my AA Business Extra points will expire.

So, what should I do? Continue reading AA Business Extra Points Expiring, What Should I Do?

British Airways, Where’s my 40,500 Avios + $143.79

British Airways

On October 22 I booked a long weekend for Kim, Lucas and I to Toronto using British Airways Avios. At just 4,500 Avios (points) each way from NYC this was definitely a bargain (although the cost will be going up soon to 7,500).

I searched at BA.com and found the flights I needed (out of JFK Airport) but I wasn’t able to book online due to issues with the flight home on TAM. I called in to take care of the issue which led to a 40 minute + call to get things sorted out. BA also had to call me back two times since it took so long!

This annoying booking experience was the start of possibly our most annoying and painful travel experience in many years. Continue reading British Airways, Where’s my 40,500 Avios + $143.79

No More British Airways Avios 4,500 Mile Awards in N. America

British Airways Avios

I knew it wouldn’t be good.

I woke up this morning and saw an e-mail from British Airways. The subject was Mr W., we’re making changes to the Executive Club.

These changes never seem to favor us, the flyer/ customer/ passenger, so I wasn’t looking forward to reading on but of course I had to. Continue reading No More British Airways Avios 4,500 Mile Awards in N. America

United MileagePlus Shopping 550 Bonus Miles Offer

United MileagePlus Shopping

A couple of days back I received an e-mail with a limited time bonus offer from Lucas’ United account.

The offer was a way to earn some bonus miles with United MileagePlus Shopping however there isn’t much time to complete the spend to earn the bonus.

This shopping bonus offer is actually quite similar to one that I received from AAdvantage Shopping last week. Continue reading United MileagePlus Shopping 550 Bonus Miles Offer

MileagePlus Dining VIP Status After 2 Dines + 750 Bonus Miles

MileagePlus Dining

(Don’t forgetenter to win a free Gogo Inflight Internet pass from Michael W Travels.)

Airline and hotel dining programs are a great way to earn bonus miles but the problem I come across with them is a lack of decent restaurants that participate close to home.

I just received an offer from United’s MileagePlus Dining which can make using the program much more worthwhile (and rewarding) through 2016.

With the offer I can earn VIP status after just 2 dines plus earn 750 bonus miles. Continue reading MileagePlus Dining VIP Status After 2 Dines + 750 Bonus Miles
