I have to say that I’m pretty excited for our upcoming trip. We leave pretty late tomorrow evening on our trip to the Middle East Gulf States. Our first stop is Abu Dhabi, UAE and from there we’ll visit three more countries as well as more of the UAE at the end.

Most of our plans are done but we have a few more details to tie-up which shouldn’t be too bad. Packing usually gets done around here at the earliest, the day before a trip so we’re right on schedule with that…I decided last-minute to splurge and pick up a guide book. My guess is that most of you don’t bother anymore with books but I still like to turn some pages and get some ideas about a trip from a book. One week from tomorrow we head off on our last trip of the summer. Our first stop will be Abu Dhabi. From there we’ll visit three more countries before heading back to the UAE to visit more of the country.

Our trip planning is coming along nicely but we still have a hotel or two to book along with possibly getting a rental car for one of our stops. Decisions, decisions…

Another week of the summer has quickly passed and there isn’t much new to report for myself in terms of miles, points and travel. The fun begins for us when we go away two weeks from today!

This summer seems to be flying by. I’m half way through the summer school session which means I’m just three weeks away from leaving on our next trip in mid-August. We have some loose ends to tie- up before we finish off our plans.

I applied and was instantly approved for another Alaska Airlines credit card however I’m still hoping a new card offers a big bonus before the year is over. There isn’t much to report on a personal level when it comes to miles, points and travel over the past week. I didn’t apply for any new cards or make any progress in finishing off the plans on our next trip coming up in the middle of August.

Last weekend I tried loading my Target REDcard in New Jersey. Not so surprisingly, the Target in Jersey City let me load a couple of gift cards without asking any questions or making up any rules. It’s been a tiring first week back to work but a positive is that there’s only 5 weeks left before we go away on our next trip!

I’ve been having a very slow year earning miles & points from credit card offers so I decided to go for the Citi Hilton card. Citi is currently offering an increased offer of 75,000 points, up from 40K. We got home late last night from our first trip of the summer. Kim, Lucas and I had a very nice time traveling around Nicaragua.

As usual, it’s never enough time as we could’ve used another 5-7 days to see more of the country. I’d mark this visit an incomplete one since there is more that I’d like to see and do in Nicaragua in the future. Hello all! We’re currently on our first trip of the summer and writing from Nicaragua!

Our flight on Copa left quite early (or late depending on how you look at it) at 2:00 AM on Saturday morning.  We flew in business class which was actually quite comfortable and allowed us all to get a lot of sleep during our quick 5 hour flight to Panama. We’re less than a week away from our next trip. Planning has been moving along well. We have a couple of hotel nights booked and an itinerary more or less in place. This week we’ll finish off booking the rest of our hotels.

Since I’m a week away from this trip, it also means that it’s the last week of the school year, well at least until the summer session begins.

With our next trip less than two weeks away, it’s probably time to come up with an itinerary.  Kim and I need to start booking hostels/ hotels and finish planning this trip!

Yesterday we spent a few hours at the awesome Big Apple BBQ Block Party in NYC. The barbecue takes place in Madison Square Park featuring pitmasters from all over the country.
