It’s hard getting back into the swing of things after being away for a month over the summer.

I’m glad that we’ll soon be going away for a short break which should be really enjoyable for the kids. (Thanks to a Hilton Grand Vacations timeshare offer we couldn’t refuse.)

Otherwise, I’m looking for another credit card to apply for. It’s been a very slow year for bonus offers for us. Hopefully we’ll close out 2018 strong. We got back less than a week ago from our month- long trip to six ex- Soviet states.

Our trip home started at 3:00AM, followed by a 4 hour layover in Doha, before flying close to 14 hours to New York. It was actually a pretty comfortable flight but we’re still getting over jet lag and hoping our sleep schedules get back on track soon!

The Michael W Travels family is currently on a one month, six country trip around Eastern Europe and the Caucasus. It’s been a great trip but all good things must come to an end.

Today is our last day, which we’ll be spending in Yerevan, Armenia.

Besides really enjoying these new destinations, it was nice to see our plans work out without any issue. (During last summer’s 5 week trip around the Pacific, we ran into trouble during our flight home.) We’re currently traveling around the country, Georgia. After spending a couple of days in Tbilisi, we’ve been on a road trip around the country.

Out of the places we’ve visited so far (Belarus, Ukraine, Transnistria, Moldova & Azerbaijan), the food has definitely been the best in Georgia. We’ve visited some amazing monasteries, fortresses and cave cities. The views have also been spectacular throughout our journey.

After a few more days in Georgia, we’ll be moving onto Armenia and the breakaway republic of Nagorno Karabakh! The Michael W Travels family is currently on our month long summer trip. We just completed the first week.

So far, we are having a great time exploring Belarus and Ukraine. We also took a night train for the first time. Talk about an interesting experience. I plan to write a review of our thoughts and about whether or not we’d recommend that kind of travel.

On Sunday night, the Michael W Travels family headed off on our month- long summer trip.

During our travels, we’ll be visiting six new countries. Some of the places we’ll be visiting are in a part of the world which we’ve never visited before, the Caucasus. This should be another interesting adventure.

Besides a variety of flights, renting a car and having a driver bring us across one of the borders, we’ll also be trying out a couple of overnight trains. Hopefully this goes well!
