At the end of the summer, Kim, Lucas and I flew home from our trip back to the Balkans in business class on Finnair.

We  typically fly in economy class so we can stretch our miles and go on more trips. However, award space home from Sofia was only available in biz so we decided to take what we could get to make the trip a reality. Continue reading The Worst Biz Class Amenity Kit Ever

A Helpful Travel Item Gets Even Better

A little over a year back I wrote a review of the Hoboroll, “a luggage organizer that provides compression of items as well as multiple storage compartments”.

I found the Hoboroll to be very useful when it came to packing for a short weekend trip. With relatively small compartments I found it hard to fit a bunch of my shirt into one. Because my clothes are pretty bulky, I found it to be of little use to me. However, when it came to Lucas this is where the Hoboroll excelled. We could fit just about all of his things into the Hoboroll in an organized way for a 10-12 day trip. Continue reading A Helpful Travel Item Gets Even Better

While at the NY Times Travel Show’s Industry Day back in February I came across a company which offers a pretty unique kind of apparel.

Clothing Arts makes the P^cubed Adventure Travel Pants which really caught my attention. They looked similar in some ways to other travel pants that I’ve worn over the years (North Face, ScotteVest). They come in similar neutral colors with cargo pockets along with a bit of a twist.

The P^cubeds Pants are Pick-Pocket Proof Pants. Continue reading Possibly The Best Travel Pants Ever- Clothing Arts P^cubed

The Newest Card In My Wallet: Nomad’s ChargeCard

a black usb flash drive

A few months back I came across a really interesting and potentially useful new card.

Now I’m guessing that most of you assume that I’m talking about a new credit card from one of the popular banks like American Express, Barclays, Chase, Citi or US Bank etc…

This card is issued by Nomad and it’s called ChargeCard. The ChargeCard won’t earn you any miles or points but it will help to give your mobile device a charge and it comes in a tiny package.

A little about the ChargeCard:

Product Review: The Hoboroll

A few months back I was offered a product to try out and review by Gobi Gear called the Hoboroll. The Hoboroll is “the first luggage organizer that provides compression of items as well as multiple storage compartments”.
.
I’m always looking for ways to make travel easier and organizing things simpler so I was happy to accept the offer.
.
A little about the Hoboroll:

  • Five compartments to organize your things
  • Made from lightweight nylon so it doesn’t add much weight
  • It can reduce packed volume by up to 50%
  • Compression: two straps/ clips across the middle
  • Can be opened/ closed from either side
  • Can be used as a stand alone item thanks to the shoulder strap or be placed inside a larger bag.

Product Review: The Clever Travel Companion T-Shirt

clever travel companion
.
A while back I read about Clever Travel Companion in an article online and was intrigued by the idea of having pockets built into underwear and t-shirts. The purpose of the pockets are to hide valuables like money, credit cards and your passport while traveling.
.
I was really curious to see how the products would look, fit and feel when filled with some of the mentioned valuables. Continue reading Product Review: The Clever Travel Companion T-Shirt

I was asked by travel clothing company SCOTTEVEST/ SeV to write a review of one of their products for their weekly Pocket Guide newsletter. I am happy to announce that this post will be featured there!

I’m always on the lookout for new gear to make traveling easier.

While wandering around, I like to take a lot of stuff with me. I usually have my cell phone, camera, gorilla pod, passport, wallet, keys, a half liter of water and various other items. If I don’t want to walk around with a backpack, my problem usually is -where do I store all of these things? There are only so many pockets in a pair of jeans or the average coat!
