AA Biz Extra 1,000 Point Referral Bonus Winners + More Referrals Available

I recently posted an offer of 5 AA Biz Extra 1,000 Point Referrals being up for grabs.

There was a lot of interest in this offer but I could only select 5 people to pass along my referrals to. However, a bunch of readers were nice enough to offer some of their referrals too!

While I don’t usually moderate comments,  in this post I did remove any that offered their own referrals, so as not to interrupt selecting the winners. I also do not allow or think it is right for people to leave their email address in my comments (especially when I am running a giveaway or promo).

I emailed each person that left their email address in my comments and let them know my stance on this kind of commenting and those that responded understood where I was coming from.

I joined American Airlines Business Extra a couple of years back and earned some free points and a bunch more through a cheap promotion.

Since earning those points, I haven’t earned any more. The main way to earn points with AA Business Extra is by flying where you’ll earn 2 points for every $10 spent on eligible flights. I haven’t earned any more points since I haven’t bought a flight on AA in close to 2 years.

The American Airlines “WestJet Style” Holiday Video

Over the past few days there’s been lots of talk/ mention in the news,  through social media and blogs about an incredible holiday video from Canadian airline WestJet.

In the WestJet Christmas Miracle video, Santa asks passengers (for 2 flights) what they need for Christmas while they are waiting at the gate to board. The answers vary from new socks & underwear to Thomas the Train toys to electronics like a big TV. Little do they know, while flying to their destination, “WestJetters” are rushing to shop for their gifts.

Giveaway: Win 2 American Airlines Admirals Club Passes

Citi & American Airlines were kind enough to send me a pair of lounge passes as part of an offer for opening an AA credit card earlier this year. However, I have no use for them.

Kim, Lucas and I have one trip left for 2013 but we won’t be flying American. Even if we were, the passes still wouldn’t be needed. Since I have an American Express Platinum card, that would get me into the Admirals Club (at least until March 22).

You can add up to 40,000 miles to your American Airlines account by getting a U.S. Airways Premier World Mastercard. Once AA & US Air are fully merged, your Dividend Miles will merge with your AAdvantage account.

Since these passes won’t do me any good, I’ll be giving them away!

Lucas Got His Disney’s Planes Coloring Book, Thanks @AmericanAir

a book and a piece of paperLast week AAdvantageGeek wrote a post about new snacks coming to American Airlines Admirals Clubs. In the post there was some other Admirals Club news also mentioned. 

One piece of news from the post really stood out. 

According to AAdvantageGeek:

Disney’s Planes will be taking off in theaters beginning August 9th. In conjunction with the new movie, as a special ‘pre-departure’ gift, whether you’re traveling with small children, or would like to take a treat home for a child, crayons and Disney’s Planes coloring books will be available (while supply lasts) in all Domestic Admirals Club locations beginning in August.

When I read about this giveaway I had to figure out a way to get a Planes coloring book for Lucas. Lucas isn’t quite ready for a coloring book yet but is showing interest in coloring and already likes planes so this would be a great item to save for him for the not so far away future.

The problem was that I have no upcoming flights with American Airlines in August, which means no visits to an Admiral Club= No Disney’s Planes Coloring Book.

Win A Trip For 2 To Hawaii From American Airlines

I just came across this sweepstakes being sponsored by American Airlines on Twitter.

In the American Airlines “A Little Extra” sweepstakes, you can win a one week luxury trip for two to Hawaii by watching a short video about Main Cabin Extra seating. The prize sounds great and I would love to win since I’ve never been to Hawaii.

With AA’s Main Cabin Extra you get to sit near the front of the plane, get early boarding and up to 6 inches of added legroom. Find out more in the AA video.

The Prize:

  • 180,000 AAdvantage miles which can be used for winner and guest to travel to Maui
  • 7 day car rental from Avis/ Budget
  • 6 nights hotel stay at the Grand Wailea, a Waldorf Astoria Resort
  • Hotel stay includes a couples massage in Spa Grande
  • $350 AmericanAirlines VacationsSM Gift Certificate  
  • One “extra” activity to choose from four options

The Rules:

  • Open to individuals legally residing in the 48 contiguous United States & D.C.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age at time of entry (19 in Alabama and Nebraska, 21 in Mississippi)
  • Enter by August 30, 2013

There are two ways to enter:

  1. Watch the short AA video HERE, then fill out the online entry form. You may enter up to six times this way. 
  2. Get one additional entry by entering at the link above and then purchasing a Main Cabin Extra seat or upgrade a current seat to Main Cabin Extra. Purchases, upgrades and travel must be completed by August 30, 2013.
