Hildebrandt’s in Williston Park, NY is a 1920’s era soda fountain and luncheonette serving delicious food and desserts.
Besides the tasty food, a visit to Hildebrandt’s is like stepping back in time!
The facade outside is pretty unique in itself and you might find yourself staring at it before heading inside.
When you enter, you’ll immediately see the long marble counter and stools. To the left (sorry no photos), is a candy counter which is pretty cool!
We first visited Hildebrandt’s back in 2014 and I don’t believe we ever headed back until recently. We enjoyed the shop so I have no excuse for not heading back again sooner…I’m pretty sure that we first heard about the diner due to its appearance on Guy Fieri’s Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. It just so happened, that during our recent visit, I was wearing my Pies -N- Thighs Guy Fieri t-shirt!Hildebrandt’s swag hanging over the candy counter…
The Food:Hildebrandt’s offers a pretty wide selection from diner fare to Italian. There’s also a pretty big variety of soda fountain items and ice creams to choose from.
I remember loving the cheeseburger years back so I had to get it again. The burger did not disappoint. It was really flavorful and enjoyable. I’d definitely order it again. The soup of the day was Chicken Rice. Soup felt like a good item to try so we got a cup which we regretted right away. The soup was so good that Kim, Lucas and I wish we had ordered the bowl!Hildebrandt’s ice cream is homemade. It was hard to pick a flavor so we got three scoops to share. We ordered vanilla, chocolate and cookies & cream along with hot fudge.
All of the flavors were awesome as was that delicious hot fudge!
Final Thoughts:
We definitely plan to head back to Hildebrandt’s again in the near future. (We definitely won’t wait another 8-9 years!)
The shop is like a trip back in time, the service is friendly and the food was awesome! I look forward to trying more items from the menu on upcoming visits.
Hildebrandt’s is located at 84 Hillside Avenue in Williston Park, NY.
