Pass on the Steak, Head to Peter Luger For Their Amazing Burger

peter lugerOK, so if you’re making a special trip to Peter Luger, I know you’ll most likely want to try their famous steak (and I don’t blame you) but hear me out on this one…

Peter Luger is considered by many to be the best steakhouse in New York City. If you want to get in, odds are pretty high that you’ll need a reservation which needs to be made a month in advance.

I’ve had steak at Peter Luger and it is really good but it’s also really pricey. If you ask me, a better option for visiting this historic restaurant is to head over during the day to give their awesome burger (available until 3:45pm) a try. It’s been a while since I came across Ridiculous Street Signs while traveling. It was actually last Spring Break when Lucas and I took a trip to Poland. You can check the sign out here.

During our recent trip to South Korea, it didn’t take long to see what I’d definitely consider to be a good addition to my Ridiculous Street Signs collection. Continue reading Ridiculous Street Signs #23: Don’t Step on the Toilet Seat- Seoul, South Korea

Bag Lost in Seoul, Intercontinental Duty Manager to the Rescue!

Screen Shot 2017-05-04 at 12.09.41 AMDuring our trip to South Korea we had a couple of interesting problems that we faced. The funny thing is that both happened in the same day but ended up working out.

The morning we were to fly back to Seoul from Jeju Island I encountered our first problem. We had an early flight and Sixt Rent-A-Car was closed. Find out what I did in the link above.

Kim and I decided to end the trip by using our IHG free nights for a two night stay at the InterContinental Seoul COEX. When we arrived, the service was absolutely amazing and friendly! We were greeted by staff like the hotel Duty Manager and the concierge checked us in. Continue reading Bag Lost in Seoul, Intercontinental Duty Manager to the Rescue!

Early Flight, Sixt Rent A Car Closed- What Would You Do?

sixt rent a car

During our recent trip to South Korea we spent a few days on beautiful Jeju Island.

Rather than waste a lot of extra money to have someone drive us around I decided to rent a car to maximize our time on the island.

I found a good deal with Sixt Rent A Car. The rental came to $145.52 including the rental of a navigation system. Tip: If you rent a car in South Korea, an International Driving Permit is required. Continue reading Early Flight, Sixt Rent A Car Closed- What Would You Do?

A Family Visit to the Guinness Storehouse

Guinness Storehouse

While researching things to do during our trip to Ireland, there was one place that I knew we had to visit.

For years I’ve heard about the Guinness Storehouse, home to the iconic Guinness Brewery. It seemed that no trip (or at least first visit) to Ireland would not be complete without checking it out.

Since Kim and I enjoy visiting breweries and beer-related sites, we decided to stop by on the day we arrived in Ireland. Continue reading A Family Visit to the Guinness Storehouse

A couple of weekends back the Michael W Travels family visited Buffalo, NY.

On the way home Kim noticed a cute friendly dog playing with another family. Lucas really loves dogs so Kim suggested that he go over and ask to pet the dog.

This turned out to be a simple request considering the dog was walking around the airport with its owner as part of the Paws for Love program! Continue reading Meeting A Paws For Life Therapy Dog at BUF Airport

Back in January JetBlue Vacations offered $150 off $150 on vacation packages for a limited time. Soon after, they changed the terms where the $150 savings was on much higher priced packages.

Some people reported getting free trips due to the promo but I couldn’t find any offers that great. However, I did find a couple of options which wouldn’t cost a ton of money.

I decided to book a very quick trip to Buffalo, New York, a city that I had never visited before. The main purpose of the visit was to try some of the areas local food… Yes, we’re primarily talking about Buffalo wings! Continue reading $179.25 + 7,400 Points= Trip for 4 to Buffalo, NY

Theo was born at the end of August 2016 and at six months old he’s already flown 16 flight segments and just under 20,000 miles. (Theo took his 1st flight at 7 weeks old.)

On every flight Theo has flown as a lap baby. When you fly to an international destination, lap baby tickets have a fee. If you’re flying domestic, you won’t have to pay anything extra but the baby will still need a ticket. Continue reading Does It Matter What Name Is On A Domestic Lap Baby Ticket?
