Diggerland Construction Theme Park- 1st Anniversary Event Coming Up

Diggerland NJ

In July 2014 Kim, Lucas and I visited Diggerland, an awesome construction-theme park in West Berlin, New Jersey.

We had lots of fun trying out many of the rides at the park. And funny as it sounds, Lucas still talks about it, asking when we can go back all of the time! We are planning to head back to Diggerland soon but we’ve been so busy. Hopefully we’ll get back there this summer. Parents & Edmunds.com Name 10 Best Family Cars 2015

Edmunds.com

Parent’s Magazine and online auto resource Edmunds.com just released their 8th annual 10 Best Family Cars List.

If you’re in the market for a new car (or are just a little curious) and have a family you’ll want to see which vehicles made the cut. I know that I’m curious to find out, especially since my car lease is up in just a little over two weeks.

According to the article, this is the eighth year in a row that “car and parenting experts partnered to evaluate hundreds of vehicles, narrowing down the list to the safest, most family-friendly vehicles on the road“. It makes me feel safer already just reading about the list… Continue reading Parents & Edmunds.com Name 10 Best Family Cars 2015

What Do You Do If Someone Shushes Your Kid?

Travel With Kids

So here’s the scenario:

We visited a tea plantation just outside of Charleston, South Carolina. During our self-guided factory tour, we were on our own, the place was empty.

After sampling some tea and checking out the gift shop, we waited a few more minutes for the trolley tour to start. We wondered if this would be a private tour but then a few small groups showed up.

There was an elderly couple, a couple of young girls and three older women that joined us. Continue reading What Do You Do If Someone Shushes Your Kid?

I came across a very interesting article from USA Today about a new kind of suite which was recently put in at Milwaukee’s airport.

No, Milwaukee didn’t get an Amex Centurion Lounge or a Delta SkyDeck but what they did get was something that should be a huge help to new moms. Continue reading Interesting: Nursing Stations Installed At Airport

How Do You Stay In Touch With Your Kids When Traveling?

family travel

Kim and I are currently on a family travel press trip to Puerto Vallarta. This is only our second time not bringing Lucas along on a trip.

When we dropped him off, I think it was harder for me to say goodbye and walk away. (I did mention back in September how it’s hard traveling without your toddler.) While Lucas was going upstairs at Kim’s father’s house, he didn’t look back. I had to call him back to get a second kiss goodbye…

Based on this, it seemed like Lucas would be just fine! Continue reading How Do You Stay In Touch With Your Kids When Traveling?

Did You Know About Lonely Planet Kids Books

Lonely Planet Kids

A couple of years back I wrote about a collection of Lonely Planet books which were made for kids called Not For Parents.

With Lucas now being three years old, I think it’s almost time for me to look into this collection again and see if some of these books might be suitable for him. However, I think I still have some time since the books are geared more towards kids 8+. Continue reading Did You Know About Lonely Planet Kids Books

Should You Travel With Your Kids?

family travel
Azure Window- Gozo, Malta

I came across an article from Yahoo Travel about a somewhat touchy topic and one that many have their own opinions about… Kids- Family Travel.

The article I am mentioning is more so a bunch of comments (from their readers about a previous post) both pro and con whether or not you should take your kids on vacation and includes a poll.

I think most of you would know where I stand on this topic. Continue reading Should You Travel With Your Kids?

Trip Planning: $140.18 + 65,000 Points= Trip for 3 To Orlando

We’ll be leaving on our first trip of 2015 tomorrow morning which will be a quick one.

This weekend I’ll miss watching the Super Bowl for what I can recall, the first time ever since we’ll be on our way home from Orlando, Florida.

I know, Orlando isn’t the most exciting destination (and not one that I’ve visited yet or have really cared to then again). However, when considering that Disney’s Magic Kingdom ranks at the top of most visited tourist attractions in the world & Epcot isn’t far behind, the time has come for us to finally see what the fuss is all about.
