The grand prize is a weekend trip to Santa Barbara and two winners will win a new travel wardrobe.
To enter the contest:
  • “Like” Horny Toad on Facebook
  • Create a Pinterest board named “Horny Toad What’s In Your Bag? Sweepstakes”
  • Pin the 5 Horny Toad items you’d want. You can include other travel products just for fun
  • On Facebook enter your Pinterest board’s URL
  • Share the contest with friends and triple the chances of winning the grand prize with each one that enters
  • Contest ends April 12

AAdvantage Tips Tab on Facebook & Win 5,000 AA Miles

American Airlines AAdvantage has added a new feature to it’s Facebook page.
They added a Tips Tab where members can share their AAdvantage advice.

Some tips added so far:

  • “You can put an award ticket on hold for free, for up to 5 days… if you’re indecisive like me “
  • “Just registered the husband’s credit card for the Dining program. He takes clients to dinner, and I get the miles!”
  • “Mom turned 80, so I surprised her with her favorite, lilies. Performed an elusive double dip- used FTD (ftd.com/aadv) AND put it on my credit card to earn miles from both!”
  • “Just stumbled upon aa.com/hotspots- now I know where I can go with fewer miles!”

Some of these tips can be useful but the best part of this new tips tab is the contest:an put an award  
By submitting a tip you will be entered for a chance to win 5,000 AAdvantage miles. 
  • Contest ends May 1
  • Open to legal residents of 50 US States, DC and Puerto Rico
  • Must be 18 or older at time of entry
  • Around 5/23 they will pick their 10 favorite tips to win.
  • 10 prizes of 5,000 AAdvantage miles (approximate value $99.50)

    The prize is a very nice trip to Amsterdam!

    KLM- Connect with Meet & Seat

    Here is another interesting way to put social networking to use for travel.

    KLM has started a new program called Meet & Seat.
    It allows you to see who’s on board your flight and get in touch with other passengers by connecting your Facebook and/ or LinkedIn account to your KLM booking profile.

    KLM says you can meet other interesting travelers and increase networking opportunities- “Choose for yourself whether you want to meet for a coffee before the flight, select adjoining seats or share a cab to the conference you are both attending”. It sounds to me like it could become another form of internet dating or hook-up opportunities!

    Meet & Seat is available for:
    • Bookings with 1 passenger
    • KLM flights between Amsterdam and New York, San Francisco  and Sao Paulo
    • From 90 days until 48 hours before departure
    • Will be available on more KLM flights soon

    Starwood Hotels Travel Exclusives- Facebook Contest

    What does vacation mean to you?

    That is the only question that Starwood asks you to answer to enter their travel contest. You need to get creative and can add a picture, short story or a even a poem.
    Contest Details:
    • Round 1: Entries are being accepted through February 28, 2012. The contest will be judged based on Inventiveness and Popularity
    • Final Round: Ten lucky finalists wll be announced on March 6, 2012. In this round the entry with the most votes wins.
    Prizes:
