IHOP Has Plans To Open Fast Casual Restaurant Called Flip’d

IHOPI find it hard to find the time to sit down for breakfast due to time constraints during the week.

IHOP (International House of Pancakes) wants to help those in this situation by opening a new fast casual concept.

Grub Street reports that “higher-ups at the pancake house announced plans to push into that always-sexy 21st-century restaurant category — fast casual“.

Rather than use the famed IHOP name for the new concept, the company plans to go with a new name, Flip’d.

Flip’d will have a tough time competing with shops like Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts as they also offer coffee along with their breakfast inspired menu.

Grub Street  say that “grab and go options” will include “pancake bowls, chicken sandwiches, breakfast burritos, and even … salads.”

The chain is set to debut in Atlanta next year and plans to also open locations in Denver, New York and San Francisco in 2020.

I’m not a big breakfast food person but I could totally see checking out Flip’d. I think the restaurant would be appealing to my kids. What do you think of this new restaurant concept from IHOP?
