The TWA Hotel at JFK Airport has been a long awaited project for quite some time.
We visited the TWA Flight Center a couple of times when it was part of OpenHouse NY. Check out a photo tour that I put together a while back.
The TWA Hotel is just a couple of weeks away from opening and the property is making some headlines.
At the end of April, it was announced that the TWA Hotel would be getting a rooftop infinity pool with runway views. (My guess is that those views will be much better than those on the Delta SkyDeck at T4.)
The TWA Hotel will be home to a restaurant by Jean-Georges when his Paris Cafe opens. There will also be various bars and lounges.I recently read an article from Eater that the former terminal’s departures hall will soon be home to a new food hall!
The Departures Hall will feature food by The Halal Guys, Empanada Mama, fresh&co, Earl of Sandwich and Playa Bowls.
The food hall will be operated by Fooda, a company “which oversees lunch pop-ups in more than 20 major cities and 2,000-plus locations in the United States”, according to the hotel’s website. This will be their first airport food hall.
If you download the Fooda app, you can check out what’s being offered by the hotel’s restaurants each day.
Overall, the TWA Hotel will be offering a lot of exciting amenities besides just being a place to rest. I hope to get a chance to visit in the near future.
