Southwest Airlines and Build-A-Bear have teamed up to celebrate National Teddy Bear Day on September 9.
The airline and toy company will donate over 20,000 bears to 36 children’s hospitals. The hospitals involved are part of Southwest Airline’s Medical Transportation Grant Program.
Southwest’s charitable partners like Make-A-Wish and Ronald McDonald House Charities are also involved.
In celebration of Teddy Bear Day, 9,500+ bears were sent to 91 Ronald McDonald House locations around the country and to various Make-A-Wish chapters. 10,300 bears were donated to 36 hospitals.
This sounds like a great program which will probably bring a smile to any child’s face.
Lucas asked to do Build-A-Bear for a couple of years and we finally took him last January as part of his birthday present. He had a great time and loved picking out his stuffed dinosaur along with an outfit.
We also took part in the crazy and disastrous Pay Your Age promo this past July. We waited on the line for hours. No it wasn’t fun but in the end, Lucas and Theo were extremely happy to get a new furry friend. I liked that it only cost me $6 and $1!
The Southwest Airlines Build-A-Bear doll is very cool. It has the airline’s hear logo on its chest and the bottom of one of its feet says the airline’s name. If this special collaboration bear was available for purchase, I’d definitely consider buying one for my boys.
