Chick fil A is my favorite fast food chain. A few years back I visited the original Chick fil A location, also called Dwarf House.
The restaurant made headlines recently when a woman gave birth inside one of the locations. The baby will receive free food for life!
Now Chick fil A shared other big news. The first international location is set to open in Toronto, Canada in 2019!
With the expansion to Canada, Chick fil A says they will create up to 750 jobs in the next five years with a “unique operating model.”
The chain expects 15 locations to open in the Greater Toronto Area by 2024. Each location could then create 50-75 new jobs.
The operating model mentioned above is quite unique. A press release explains that, “Chick-fil-A offers a low economic barrier to entry for ownership ($15,000 compared to $100,000 – $300,000 for many Canadian franchises).”
I’m happy to see that Chick-fil-A will be expanding internationally. Hopefully if stores in Canada succeed, they’ll look to open in other countries around the world too.
What I do wonder is, will Chick-fil-A’s in Canada will offer any local menu items. For instance, McDonald’s Canada offered poutines. I’d love to see some special items created for Canada.

Dale & Aly- Thanks for this info! I had no clue until someone recently tweeted this out. Have either of you tried the Calgary Chick-fil-A?
Calgary domestic terminal has had one for awhile!
Technically speaking this will be the 2nd international location. There’s already one in Calgary at the airport. It’s located before departures. Has a very limited menu, as it really only serves chicken biscuits, chicken sandwiches and waffles fries. Doesn’t have spicy chicken sandwich!
