New York Area Airports Get New Twitter Accounts

Twitter Accounts

Following the right Twitter accounts can be helpful in many ways.

I’ve found Twitter helpful for finding deals, getting news, entering (and winning) contests and for a variety of other things.

Up until now the New York area airports ( EWR, JFK, LGA & SWF) have all shared a Twitter account (@NY_NJairports).

However, as of today, this has changed!

Starting today, November 1 each New York area airport has its own Twitter account.

This will probably be a much better way to follow the news and information for the airport you are most interested in. You can also always follow all four accounts! You’ll now be asked to tweet questions or comments to the specific airport you’re looking to inquire about.

Here are the new New York area Twitter accounts:

  • Newark Airport (EWR): @EWRairport
  • John F Kennedy (JFK): @JFKairport
  • LaGuardia (LGA): @LGAairport
  • Stewart (SWF): @SWFairport

I decided to follow the Twitter accounts for EWR, JFK and LGA since we fly out of all three airports. I’ve never flown out of Stewart so I didn’t bother to follow that account.

Do you think it’s better for each airport to have their own account or is it better for the Port Authority of NY & NJ to run one Twitter account? I prefer each airport sharing info on their own dedicated account.
