I’ve written about US National Parks Service offering Free Entrance Days to the parks on select dates throughout the year a bunch of times and figured it was worth mentioning the next, upcoming date.

The next free day is approaching this weekend and its one of just two free days left in 2014

On Saturday, September 27 entry will be free at all 401 National Parks. This is a very generous offer although in reality an entrance fee is only charged at 133 parks.

According to NPS.gov, the “Fee waiver includes: entrance fees, commercial tour fees, and transportation entrance fees. Other fees such as reservation, camping, tours, concession and fees collected by third parties are not included unless stated otherwise“.

The final Free Entrance Day for 2014 will be Veterans Day on Tuesday, November 11.

Have you taken advantage of Free Entrance Days at US National Parks? If so, which parks did you visit?
