I’m currently looking into some ideas for our longer summer trip for 2018. I’d love to use some American Airlines miles since Kim and I have a lot of them, but it isn’t easy finding award availability!

The minimum spend for my newest credit card is almost completed. I’m now hoping to find another card worth applying for. (This won’t be easy!)

The Michael W Travels family had an awesome time during our Spring Break trip to Portugal. The hills in Lisbon are no joke and an amazing workout if you walk everywhere like we did.

We were really impressed with Portugal and would’ve liked time to see even more of the country. Someday I hope to return.

The Michael W Travels family is currently traveling around Portugal over Spring Break.

We checked out some of the towns in the Alentejo region over the past few days and have had a great time so far. Earlier in the evening we arrived in Lisbon which were looking forward to exploring.

The Michael W Travels family is heading off on our Spring Break trip on Thursday night. We’re looking forward to exploring another country, new to all of us- Portugal.

While planning the trip, we decided to stick to the mainland and take a pass on visiting the Azores. Kim and I have been wanting to check out the islands for a while now but we decided that it wasn’t worth it for this trip given our time constraints (a little over a week). This week I started using the US Bank Altitude Reserve credit card. The card has a steep $400 annual fee but it’s offset by a $325 annual travel credit along with many other benefits.

For the first year, the Altitude Reserve is a great deal although I can’t see keeping it after that. The card has an interesting bonus category, 3X points with mobile wallet purchases so I just started using Apple Pay. Less than half of the businesses I’ve used the card at to date accept Apple Pay but it’s a pretty cool payment option which I might even start to use with other credit cards in the future. Our Spring Break trip is a little over two weeks away. As has been the norm lately Kim and I procrastinated, waiting to come up with a trip itinerary.

On Saturday, the Michael W Travels family got back from our trip to Cyprus and Greece.

The Michael W Travels family is currently in Cyprus. We’ve had a great time so far and the only real negative is that we don’t have more time to explore the island. Tomorrow, we’ll be heading to Greece to explore for a few days.
