It’s been over a month since we got back from our trip to Malta & Milan so its time for a little recap.
Getting to Europe was a bit of a pain since we needed to take three flights to get there. However, for the price we paid ($258.12 per person), I’d definitely do it again. We arrived in Milan and spent the first and last day there. In between we spent six really enjoyable days on the island of Malta.
Milan wasn’t a city that we were overly excited about visiting but we figured that for parts of 2 days we could figure out enough to do.
After stopping by our hotel which was just outside of the downtown area, (very easy to get to by train from the airport) we headed into the city and made our first stop at Sforza Castle. Within the castle were a bunch of museums but we didn’t visit any of them. We wandered around the grounds which were very lively and pretty much like a public park. This year we started booking our Spring trip a bit earlier than usual thanks to an incredible mistake airfare deal through Norwegian airline Wideroe. We got in on 3 trips to Europe at incredible prices due to this error.
In January we went to Oslo, Norway and the following month we went on a Quick Euro-Road Trip, visiting 3 countries in 4.5 days.
For our third Wideroe trip I decided to book a flight to Milan. Milan was consistently showing the cheapest mistake fares during the 48 hours or so that the offer was available.

Last month Kim, Lucas and I took a quick trip to Oslo, Norway thanks to an awesome mistake fare from Wideroe. While the fares were hot (low), I managed to book 3 trips for us at amazing prices.
I am writing this trip planning post from my room in Lake Como, Italy. I usually like to write about upcoming trips/ trip planning before we go away. However, due to an upcoming potential storm in the NY area, I was able to get my flight switched and we flew a day early.
We booked a really cheap, round trip flight to Milan with little intention to stay in the area. I started looking over a map of the area and came up with an ambitious (for traveling with a 2-year-old), Mini Euro-Roadtrip itinerary.
