The Prize:

DELAYED: Delta NONSTOP NYC- Win A Trip to LA

On Thursday I posted about Delta NONSTOP NYC, a promo where 40 winners will win an unforgettable trip for two to LA (from NYC).

The sweepstakes was supposed to start today (and include more info about the giveaway). However, due to the storm in the Northeast the start date of Nonstop NYC has been changed to November 5.

The number of weeks to play have been reduced from 7 to 6. The good news is that there will still be 40 opportunities to win!

When the sweepstakes starts next week the first mission will be:

  • Around the World NYC or Not

A couple of days back Delta tweeted some info about an upcoming giveaway.
There wasn’t much detail so this is all I have to report:

  • Starting October 29, win two tickets for an unforgettable trip from NYC to LA
  • There will be 40 Winners
  • There are 3 Ways to Win
  • Must be at least 21 years old

I’m not too sure of what the unforgettable trip includes but I’ll be sure to sign up for a chance at the prize on 10/29.

KLM.com Affinity Search Tool

If you are unsure where to go on your next trip, KLM wants to help you out!

The KLM Affinity Search is an interactive map which shows the price of destinations all over the world based on your Travel Dates, Departure City and Budget.

I tried out the Affinity Search and thought it was an interesting and fun way to search for a flight. 

For my search, I put in fixed dates, departing from JFK airport. For the budget I selected a maximum price of $1,000. (It would be great if they added the option to search by redeeming miles although I’m sure far less results would come up.)

The KLM Affinity Search found me 16 fights which were all to Europe using my chosen selections. 
Here are some of the flights the search came up with:
  • Moscow for $703
  • Reykjavic for $737
  • Dublin for $853
  • Zurich for $907
  • Tallinn for $986
  • London for $998 

I already have my flight booked for my trip in August but if I was still looking, I would’ve been willing to consider Dublin or Reykjavic. Both seem to be priced pretty fair for summer travel and are places that I would eventually like to visit.

The Affinity Search is definitely worth checking out but I am not sure that I would rely on it to pick my next trip destination out for me. Would you?

Bahamas.com is giving away FOUR all-expense paid, 7 day trips in a Facebook contest. They are also sending along a camera crew to record the trip for their next commercial.

To enter, upload a photo or video of yourself on vacation (or elsewhere if you don’t have a vacation photo) to the Bahamas Facebook page.

You can choose from 4 trips:

  • Family Vacation for 4: highlights- swimming with dolphins, horse drawn carriage ride through Nassau, walk with marching flamingos at Ardastra Gardens & explore the Bahamas rich history
