Star Alliance added some great pictures of the ANA Dreamliner from Saturday January 21 2012 as it saw the first passenger long haul flight from Tokyo to Frankfurt. Some photos are from a ceremony held at Frankfurt Airport celebrating the Dreamliner’s first departure back to Japan.

Ethiopian Airlines has joined the Star Alliance. A ceremony was held yesterday at Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa. Ethiopian is the third airline based in Africa to become a member.
The Star Alliance members serving Africa now offer 750+ flights per day to over 110 destinations in 48 countries on the continent.
The added coverage in Africa is very nice as I have quite a bit of mileage in my Continental/ United account. I’ve been to Africa two different times so far and would love to go again.
Also:
The Star Alliance has appointed a new CEO- Mark Schwab. He comes from United where he was Senior VP for alliances. In this role he served as a member of the Star Alliance’s Management Board.
