In the #HashtagHotel promo, Club Carlson gave away 1,000 bonus Gold Points to the first 15,000 people who connected using Twitter and followed @ClubCarlson and filled out a sign-up form.

This offer was the pre-cursor to the main element of the promo, the 24 Hour Twitter Party.

During the party lots of prizes are to be given out including Gold Points, elite status, noise cancelling headphones and more. There are also be travel experts joining in to share some tips and tricks on how to get the most out of your travels.

I love when we get offers for free miles & points and this one is as easy as could be.

Kim received a card in the mail from Southwest offering 1,000 Bonus Points when signing up for Rapid Rewards e-mail updates.

Signing up for this offer is a no-brainer.  It takes just a few seconds to sign up for Rapid Rewards emails. And, if Kim doesn’t want to be bothered by them, we could just cancel the e-mail subscription once the bonus points post to her account.

Being a native New Yorker (Brooklyn to be exact), I try to avoid Times Square at all costs. It’s pretty much impossible to walk a block without getting into a traffic jam of people constantly stopping short to take a photo, listen to a street musician or look up at something on a building.

However, if I wasn’t from NY I could kind of see the appeal of visiting the area- at least for a day. (Broadway show, bright lights, a really cool Toys R’ Us etc.)

Register/ Update Your Cards With Airline & Hotel Dining Programs

A great way to earn easy miles and points is with the various airline & hotel dining programs. However, one major problem that I’ve mentioned in the past is the limited amount of restaurants that participate close to home.

Odds are you won’t earn tons of points through the dining programs but they are a good way to earn some extra miles/ points and a great way to extend your accounts expiration dates.

I just received an e-mail from United MileagePlus Dining which also applies to all of the other dining program accounts.

SPG 5th Night Free, What To Do For 6th Night?

spgI am writing this post as we enjoy our last night at the Le Meridien St Julians Hotel & Spa in beautiful Malta.

More than anything, my mind is always focused on finding the best deal. And even after I have made my decision/purchase I continue to wonder if my choice was the best one. So now that  our time in Malta has come to an end I’ve been thinking about the value of our hotel stay. We’ve had a great trip and we thought that we got a very nice deal on our accommodations but now I am wondering if it could’ve been an even better value.

While looking for a hotel on Malta not too many places caught our attention. Budget hotels didn’t seem to be much of a bargain and a few places that we did consider probably wouldn’t have been good for a 2 year old.

I decided to look into options using points.

Yesterday I received a very nice offer in an e-mail from IHG Rewards Club. This offer is being targeted to some members.

The offer: Get 5,000 bonus point back when booking using cash & points.

This offer seems to be a no-brainer. I plan to take advantage of this promotion as long as I can make it work during an upcoming trip in May.

20% Off United Saver Awards To Mexico City

a building with a towerUnited is offering a 20% discount on MileagePlus Saver Awards flights to Mexico City.

Saver Awards from the U.S. (excluding Hawaii & Guam) or Canada to Mexico City usually cost 35,000 miles. However, with this offer these same awards will only cost 28,000 miles.

I haven’t been to Mexico City and can’t say that I have the desire to visit any time in the near future but if you do, that’s a pretty nice savings
