Travel Hack: Watch Your Mobile Device Hands Free During Flights!

Travel HackA few years back I wrote how The SkyClip Could Make Flying Much More Entertaining.

The SkyClip is a plastic stand which you lock in place with the seat back tray table. It then acts as a stand for your phone. This allows you to watch from your device hands free.

A travel hack that I used to use for hands free watching was placing my phone in a ziplock bag. I’d then hang it from the clip for the tray table! Simple right?!

I tend to forget to bring a plastic bag for flights and in recent years, the SkyClip hasn’t worked with many tray tables…

I recently came across a new travel hack which is an interesting idea for hands free entertainment watching from your own device.

All you need is a piece of paper and your cellphone and its case.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Fold the paper horizontal into three equal parts.
  2. Take your cell phone out of its case
  3. Place your phone in the middle fold of the paper
  4. Close the other sides of paper over your phone
  5. Push your phone back into the case, having the rest of the paper all around stick out around the case
  6. Fold the top section of the paper behind the tray table
  7. Close the tray table or lock it in place
  8. Your phone should hang securely from the tray table for hands free watching!

I’m willing to give this a try but I wonder if its the safest idea. I guess I’ll have to give it a try on a future flight.
