On February 17, 2021 the Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City is set to be blown up.

The date of the implosion was announced late last week. If you’re interested in watching the event take place (I am), you “can place a bid to join a “viewing party” from nearby hotel rooms”, according to the New York Daily News.

The casino closed back in 2014 after being in business for decades. The former president stopped doing business in Atlantic City in 2009.

The casino has fallen into disrepair and was initially scheduled for demolition on January 29.

Originally, there was an auction planned where the highest bidder would get the opportunity to press the button to start the implosion. Carl Icahn, the billionaire owner of the property was against the plan due to safety concerns.

Porn star Stormy Daniels hoped to get the chance to push the button to blow up Trump Plaza. She’s claimed to have had an affair with Donald Trump in the past. A GoFundMe was set up to help her raise money to win the auction.

The auction had raised $175,000 for the local Boys and Girls Club. Icahn says he will donate the same amount to the club.

The new Imploding Viewing Party Auction is for ten seats at the Hard Rock and Ocean casinos. Each winner gets front-row seats to the implosion, a one night hotel stay and dinner for two.

  1. Predictably, it’s looking like TDS-influenced posts among the TDS-suffering travel bloggers won’t be going away any time soon. Looking forward to when they get back to more of the actual travel-related content instead of their tiring political bitterness and virtue signaling that’s been on display for the last 4 years. But as we can see, that’s going to take awhile, if ever. lol
