On the way home from our Spring Break trip, American Airlines canceled our flight and we had no way home for two days.

This was a major annoyance but we tried to make the best of our situation by enjoying our time in Saint Louis.

Our delay is nothing compared to what French airline Aigle Azur has done to passengers.

The airline filed for bankruptcy, stranding thousands of passengers- many internationally!

Fox News reports that “An estimated 13,000 of the airline’s passengers are thought to have been stranded as a result.

Around 11,000 are thought to be stuck in Algeria claims Jean-Baptiste Djebbari, France’s secretary of state for transport.

Late last week, Djebbari met with French airlines asking for them to help in repatriating those stranded. He also thanked Air France for chartering extra flights to Algeria.

It’s expected that most of the people will be returned to France over the next three weeks.

I don’t know what I would do if I was stranded for three weeks. I’m guessing that we’d look into purchasing a flight to get home a lot sooner!

According to Fox, some bidders are interested in purchasing Aigle Azur.
