The one year anniversary of the shocking death of superstar chef, author, traveler and TV personality Anthony Bourdain is less than a week away.
Bourdain has been remembered in many ways over the past year.
New Jersey proposed a bill for an Anthony Bourdain Food Trail. There were six Emmy nominations for his show Parts Unknown. A tribute to Bourdain Vietnam Tour was launched by Exotic Voyages.
Now, a couple of Bourdain’s good friends have announced a new way to honor him.
A few days back, “world-famous chefs Eric Ripert and José Andrés posted a video on Twitter,” according to Food & Wine. The duo wanted to share a message that June 25 would be Bourdain Day, “a day memorializing their late friend.”
The date was chosen since it would’ve been the late star’s birthday.
Here is the tweet from @ericripert:
According to the tweet they want you to celebrate the life, legacy and birthday of Anthony Bourdain. You can do so by sharing tributes and memories using the hashtag #BourdainDay.
I plan to participate by sharing a few of Bourdain-inspired blog posts:
- Anthony Bourdain Recommended: Doughnut Hot Dog- Kiev, Ukraine
- Anthony Bourdain Recommended: Pinotxo Bar- Barcelona, Spain
How will you celebrate #BourdainDay ?
