While waiting for a flight, it’s always nice to have access to an airport lounge.
During our 5 Weeks in the Pacific, the Michael W Travels family made many visits to the Fiji Airways Tabua Lounge in Nadi, Fiji. It was awesome to have free WiFi, drinks, decent food and a comfy place to relax. (Too bad we had to visit a temporary lounge while the new one is being built.)
On the way home, we spent a few hours at the Amex Centurion Lounge in San Francisco. Again, free WiFi, drinks and solid food was included. The one knock we had about this airport lounge was how packed it was.
Other lounges offer showers, massages, manicures, Sky Decks and many other amenities. For one lounge which will soon be opening, you’ll want to remember to bring your bathing suit!
T+L reports that, “VIP travelers flying in and out of Punta Cana International Airport in the Dominican Republic are about to get a luxurious new amenity: an outdoor swimming pool.”
The new airport lounge is supposed to open in December 2017 and is being designed by Dominican architect Antonio Segundo Imbert.
There wasn’t any info yet as to how you get access to the new lounge or what it might cost to pay for a day pass.
Would you be interested in going for a swim in an airport lounge while waiting for your flight? I think it sounds awesome but it also might be a bit of a pain to have to change and then fly with wet clothes in your bag.
