Hertz is bringing back its popular “Rent-A-Racer” program.

Starting Memorial Day weekend, you’ll once again be able to rent a Ford Shelby Mustang. However, it will cost you quite a bit more than your typical rental.According to USA Today, “Hertz, teaming with performance car outfitter Shelby American, is bringing back its hopped-up Ford Mustang, the Shelby GT-H“.

17 airports will have the car available which will be an “instantly recognizable in black with a pair of gold racing stripes“.

The option with Hertz became known as a “rent-a-racer” with many renters most likely racing them on weekends. The program was a PR success and the reason it is being brought back.

Renting a Ford Shelby Mustang from Hertz will start at a pricey $399 per day! Locations will have between 5-15 of the cars available at any given location. During the cold weather months, cars located in the north will be available in “warmer-weather states“.
