A popular video game company is planning to bring some of their characters to life! According to Travel + Leisure, a Nintendo theme park is being built in Japan.
While I’m not a big fan of theme parks, I did love playing Nintendo growing up. I’m definitely interested in hearing more about this new park.
The park being built will be the first for Nintendo.
It’s a “joint venture” with Universal Parks. It will be located in Osaka, Japan and they’re hoping to have it open by 2020 to coincide with the Olympics taking place in Tokyo.
Not so surprisingly, T+L says that the park will have a Super Mario focus along with other famous Nintendo characters. Other attractions we’ll expect to see are Pokemon, The Legend of Zelda and Donkey Kong.
The park will be quite costly to build, coming in at over $350 million.
This sounds pretty cool and a park that I’d like to check out.
What do you think? Could Nintendo theme parks give Disney a run for its money? I doubt it, but I do feel that many would line up to visit.

Dee- As a Nintendo fan as a kid, I’d be interested too although I’m not big on theme parks.
I love it! I would go on my next Japan trip.
