I’m always on the lookout for fun things to do close to home. Even when we’re not traveling, it isn’t hard to find ways to keep busy exploring around New York City.
While I’m not a big fan of big, boring museums, I do love museums that focus on odd things as well as food.
I was pretty excited to come across news that Mr. Chocolate himself, Jacques Torres would soon be opening a chocolate museum in the city!
For those of you unfamiliar with Jacques Torres, he owns quite a few shops around New York selling his amazing chocolates. We’re big fans of his awesome chocolate chip cookie and the frozen hot chocolate! (When we visit, we stick to our borough and visit his shop in DUMBO.)
Eater reports that “Jacques Torres will soon be opening a museum dedicated to all things chocolate“.
The museum will be located in Jacques Torres Chocolate at 350 Hudson Street. and will be called Choco-Story New York, The Chocolate Museum and Experience with Jacques Torres.
Eater didn’t have any details about what to expect at the museum but they were invited to an opening next week which will include tastings and chocolate making! Fun fun…
I’ve been to chocolate museums in Germany, Belgium and Hershey, PA. I may’ve left out others which aren’t coming to mind.
I’m definitely curious to see what the Choco-Story New York will be like. Considering Jacques Torres is involved, it’s pretty much a guarantee that there will be some amazing chocolate around.
