The Titanic sank over 100 years ago but it’s still a major draw.
The feature film Titanic from 1997, written and directed by James Cameron went on to gross over $2 billion. When it airs on TV, I have a hard time turning it off.

In September 2014 I wrote that the Titanic would sail again in 2016.
The plans to build a new Titanic (the Titanic 2) were developed by Australian billionaire Clive Palmer. Since writing the post, I haven’t thought much about Titanic 2 but it looks like plans are back on track for the new ocean liner to sail a couple of years later than originally expected. I was a bit surprised to come across an article about plans to build an 883 foot “full scale recreation” of the Titanic. The plans were announced in New York at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum.
