While I don’t eat McDonald’s much at home (my kids love it), I love visiting when traveling to new countries.

Over the years, we’ve come across some awesome items like shrimp burgers, fried shrimps, fried cheese and some excellent pastries.

Since McD’s started their MyMcDonald’s Rewards program, I always order through it to earn points. The program also offers deals and free items relatively frequently.

Earlier in the day, I received an e-mail from McDonald’s wishing me a happy birthday. My birthday isn’t for a few weeks but this was definitely a nice (and early) gesture.

Along with the e-mail, came a free birthday reward!

On my next order, I can get a free dessert treat. There are three options, an Apple Fritter, Blueberry Muffin or Cinnamon Roll.

While I’m not a big fan of any of these options, I’ll make sure to redeem it for someone in my family. 🙂
