A few years back I wrote how The SkyClip Could Make Flying Much More Entertaining.
The SkyClip is a plastic stand which you lock in place with the seat back tray table. It then acts as a stand for your phone. This allows you to watch from your device hands free.
A travel hack that I used to use for hands free watching was placing my phone in a ziplock bag. I’d then hang it from the clip for the tray table! Simple right?!
I tend to forget to bring a plastic bag for flights and in recent years, the SkyClip hasn’t worked with many tray tables…
I recently came across a new travel hack which is an interesting idea for hands free entertainment watching from your own device.
All you need is a piece of paper and your cellphone and its case.
Here’s what you need to do:
- Fold the paper horizontal into three equal parts.
- Take your cell phone out of its case
- Place your phone in the middle fold of the paper
- Close the other sides of paper over your phone
- Push your phone back into the case, having the rest of the paper all around stick out around the case
- Fold the top section of the paper behind the tray table
- Close the tray table or lock it in place
- Your phone should hang securely from the tray table for hands free watching!
I’m willing to give this a try but I wonder if its the safest idea. I guess I’ll have to give it a try on a future flight.
