A Florida glass-bottomed kayak tour was recently named the best activity in the U.S. according to Travel and Leisure.

The tour “was rated the best activity in the U.S. by almost 2,000 Tripadvisor reviews in 2021” according to T+L.

The tour takes travelers around the Shell Key Preserve near St. Petersburg, Florida.

Thanks to the clear bottom on the kayak, travelers on the tour have had incredible views of dolphins, rays, manatees, turtles and more.

The tours are offered by Get Up And Go Kayaking and are reasonably priced.

A day time tour will set you back $64 per person for a 2.5 trip. The evening tour is a little pricier at $69 per person. However, that tour only lasts for 1.5 hours. (The night tour is only available for those 12 years of age and older.)

Tours leave from Billy’s Stone Crab restaurant in Tierra Verde, Florida.

Years back, Kim and I went swimming, snorkeling and kayaking on Crystal River, Florida to see manatees. These two excursions were great experiences.

The glass-bottom kayaking tour on Shell Key Preserve sounds incredible and I’d love to give it a try one of these days.
