Around five years back, we gave popular Filipino fast food chain Jollibee a try for the first time.
I had first heard about the restaurant when Anthony Bourdain visited on his CNN series, Parts Unknown. After seeing that a location existed in Queens, NY, we headed over and it was instant fast food love!
Since then, a location opened in New York City with a more limited menu. On the way to the NY Times Travel Show, Lucas and I stopped in to enjoy a meal of Chickenjoy and Jolly Spaghetti.
Just before we took off on our Spring Break road trip, I came across some awesome news.
Jollibee would be “Opening a Massive Times Square Flagship“, according to Eater!
While we try to avoid Times Square, this new Jollibee along with a couple of other recent openings would be a reason to visit the overcrowded tourist destination, especially with our kids.
The new location will be opening at 1500 Broadway, between West 43rd and 44th streets. There are no details as to when the new location will be opening.
I’m hoping that Jollibee will open a shop closer to home (Brooklyn) one of these days. However, considering the new Times Square location will only be their third shop in NY, I can’t imagine that happening any time soon.
Have you dined at Jollibee? If so, what did you think of the food and the experience?

AskMrLee- Jollibee’s menu is a nice change from fast food! 🙂
If I have a halo halo craving in the middle of the night, it was possible to go to Jollibee in Union City, CA and get one via the drive-through – pre Covid, of course. It’s not as good as what you’d get in Hawaii, but it’s a nice change from regular fast food desserts.
