Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, entertainment options have been somewhat limited.
I just came across some great news from TimeOut.com regarding AMC Movie Theaters and another movie chain.
On August 20, the biggest movie chain in the country, AMC Movie Theaters, will be opening 100 locations!
To mark the reopening, prices will be a real bargain. AMC will offer “movies in 2020 at 1920 prices” for one day. There will be specific movies shown at the ridiculously low price of 15¢ per ticket!
Of AMC’s 600 theaters, only 100, (about 1/6th of them) will be reopening for now. By early September they expect to have 2/3 of their theaters open.
The country’s second largest chain, Regal Cinemas is also set to reopen a day later.
TimeOut writes that seeing a movie inside a theater will be pretty different, “expect reduced capacity, social distancing cues, required face coverings and increased cleaning measures to define your visit.”
Do you think it’s safe to see a movie inside a theater when they reopen? I think that I’ll pass for now.
