When you stop by NYC’s Prince Street Pizza, odds are pretty hight that there will be a line. (I’m not sure how true that is at the moment due to the COVID-19 pandemic though.)
The shop is known for a variety of tasty pizzas, especially their Soho Squares topped with pepperoni. The shop is also famous for being in the location of the of the first Ray’s Pizza.
I just came across some very interesting news regarding Prince Street Pizza.
The pizzeria will be expanding with another shop. However, it won’t be anywhere near the NYC location.
The new Prince Street Pizza will be opening in Los Angeles. The shop will be located at 9161 Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood. Eater mentions that the location has been “a rotating home for various under-the-radar pizza restaurants.”
The West Coast PSP will look very similar to the NYC shop but “there will be a few bar-height countertops available for dining in once such things are allowed again.”
Prince Street Pizza is owned by father and son duo Frank and Dom Morano. The younger Morano, Dom will be moving to LA to get the shop going. He has no plans as to when he’ll be moving back to NY but it won’t be until the shop is running smoothly. Frank will also be in LA for some of the time when the shop opens.
The new PSP is set up open sometime later in the summer or in early September.
I’d be very interested in checking out the new PSP location if I happen to visit LA. I’m curious to see if the pies can be replicated well without NY water!
