Contributor Ridiculous Street Signs #16: Cebu City- Jesus Is My All…

Cebu CityI love coming across funny signs both at home and while traveling around the world. Most of the time these signs aren’t meant to be funny, regardless, humor can be found in them.

From time to time, I post about funny signs which I like to call, Ridiculous Street Signs.

For the past few years, I’ve been a member of a Facebook group called, Every Passport Stamp. In the group, you can ask questions about harder to reach destinations and get lots of great tips and advice from a group full of experienced travelers.

A recent post in the group about Funny/ Interesting Signs led to a thread with lots of comments and sharing. Thanks to this, I came across an awesome sign from member Ben Sand. (Ben and I started chatting online about pizza a few weeks back after he watched my interview on EPS.)

Ben thought it would be fun to share his photo “Jesus Is My All Penas Store” from Cebu City, Philippines. The sign caught Ben’s eye due to the word Penas. While passing by the sign, he initially mistook the word for another!

Just change the a to an i and you get a male body part not usually mentioned with Jesus.a sign on a buildingMW:  Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
BS: My name is Benjamin Sand. I’ve visited 90 UN, 102 UN+ countries and lived in 10 different countries. I’ve traveled for approximately six months every year for the past 2 decades. I’m half Finnish, Norwegian, born in England and grew up in India.

MW:How did you come across my site?
BS: We met through our mutual appreciation of pizza while I watched your Every Passport Stamp Facebook interview.

MW:  When did you spot the sign?
BS: The sign was spotted in Cebu City back in December 2010.

MWWhere was it located?

BS: This sign was taken from the window of a taxi.

MW: What was your reaction when you spotted the sign?

BS: Shit, gotta grab my camera before the taxi drives off!

MW: Is there anything else that you’d like to share related to the sign or Togo?

BS: Travel with your eyes wide open.

I want to thank Ben for sending me this awesome sign and taking the time to answer some questions to tell us more about it!
