Mark Iacono Of Lucali’s Consulting On Pizzeria At LaGuardia Airport

Around five years back, I got a “taste of United’s Newark Airport Experience.”

OTG was hired to transform Terminal C’s food options at EWR. The company brought in various well known chefs to consult on the project.

Now, a similar project is under way at Laguardia Airport’s Delta Terminal.

LaGuardia is under a multi-billion dollar facelift. Some changes have already been noticeable with Terminal B getting a location of favorite local burger chain, Shake Shack at the end of 2018.

This fall, Delta’s  section of Terminal C will be getting a welcome new addition.

Famed pizzaiolo Mark Iacono has been hired by OTG to consult on the upcoming Rossi Pizzeria.

The shop “will serve Neapolitan-style pizza and calzones, created on the advice of Mark Iacono” according to Eater.

Lucali is notorious for long waits and excellent pizza and calzones. While I’m not a big fan of calzones, I tend to find the calzones to be better than the pizza at Lucali.

I’m curious to find out (and taste) Rossi Pizzeria when it opens. I’d expect the food to be much better than your average airport Italian restaurant but how will it compare to Lucali?
