Two Holland America cruise ships got into a fender bender at the Vancouver Port in British Columbia.

According to USA Today, “two of its cruise ships collided, while one of the ships attempted to dock.”

The situation took place early in the morning on Saturday when the Oosterdam hit the Nieuw Amsterdam. The contact caused damage to six of the Nieuw Amsterdam’s stateroom verandas.

USA Today shared a statement from Holland America explaining the damages: “All required repairs are well above the waterline, and the seaworthiness of both ships is not affected. All appropriate authorities have been notified.”

Luckily, there were no injuries and future voyages will not be affected.

The Nieuw Amsterdam set sail again on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. on a seven-day Alaska cruise and The Oosterdam left at 4:45 p.m. on an overnight cruise to Seattle.

While I’m not a fan of cruises, the one time I gave it a try we went with Holland America. The ship was relatively small compared to others when we docked at various ports. Besides getting seasick and not fully being able to enjoy, the food onboard was quite impressive.
