Did You Know About This Hack For Taking Photos With An iPhone?

For quite some time now, I’ve been using my iPhone as my camera. I think the last time I brought my Canon SLR on a trip, was when we visited Cuba back in late 2015/ early 2016.

Using the iPhone as a camera makes things much easier. You always have your phone on you, so there’s no issue with not having a camera to take photos with.

I used to really hate using the term selfie, but there are times when you have no choice but to take a selfie! We’ve taken a lot of fun and silly photos this way and yes the kids love them, too.

The only issue with taking a selfie with the iPhone is that it can be hard to hit the shutter button on the screen or squeeze the side button to snap a photo. (There are also times when the photos come out blurry due to tapping the screen too hard etc…)

I came across a great trick, pretty much a hack on a better way to take selfies with the iPhone.

All you need to do is plug your Apple EarPods (headphones) in, open up the camera and hit the volume button on the headphones up or down. (Thanks T+L for the heads up!)

I’ve tried this method a bunch of times and it did make taking the photos so much easier. I also felt that it was safer. There have been times where I thought there was a chance I could drop my phone trying to take a picture.

Did you know that your iPhone EarPods could be used as a shutter button for taking photos? If so, do you find this to be a helpful option?
