Chef, TV star, author and traveler Anthony Bourdain shockingly passed away in early June. We recently found out that the final season of his hit series, Parts Unknown would air this fall.
After all of the developments related to Anthony Bourdain, I figured the final season of Parts Unknown would be the final show we’d see from CNN.
It turns out that the cable network is now going to release an Anthony Bourdain documentary in early 2019.
In a Grub Street article about the doc, they mention that “Vanity Fair’s the Hive reports that preproduction has recently begun on a documentary about Bourdain’s life and work.”
The production company for Parts Unknown, Zero Point Zero, is involved in the project.
According to the article, the documentary should be ready by early January 2019, just in time for the film festivals which is before it would air on TV or in theaters.
I’m definitely interested in seeing the Bourdain documentary when it comes out but I’m a bit surprised that CNN didn’t wait a little longer to go ahead with this project.
