Thanks to a “freak storm“, a couple was stranded on a remote island off the northeast coast of Australia earlier in the week.

While the couple wasn’t playing the TV game show Survivor, they thought quick and wrote HELP in the sand on the beach, which aided their rescue.

The couple’s boat hit into the rocks on the appropriately named, Avoid Island.

They were stuck on the island for eight hours, “enduring three storms and taking shelter in mudflats“, according to ABC News.

The word HELP, wasn’t the only thing that saved the day. The couple had also activated an “EPIRB, a device that transmits coded messages via satellite.”

It sounds like the couple had quite the adventure and will have a great story to tell for years to come!
